## Why the cap is 10

The 99th-percentile Calgary driver gets 6 to 8 chips a year on a heavy commute. Most plan members use 2–3 repairs/year. The 10-chip annual cap is a fair-use anti-fraud boundary that keeps the plan honest for everyone — it stops gaming, not normal driving.

## Insurance interaction

Alberta comprehensive insurance covers individual chip repairs at $0 deductible. The $99 plan is a prepaid subscription — most insurers don't reimburse subscriptions directly. If you mostly drive on insurance, the standard $50 repair claimed back may make more sense than the plan.
